Grapevine Art · Michael Weiss · California

Nature made the raw material.
I figure out what happens next.

Grapevine sculpture, lighting, and one-of-a-kind pieces. Handmade from the materials of Wine Country, with their twists, scars, and stories intact.

Sculptural grapevine wood with richly textured branching forms

Retired grapevines / Old barrels / New possibilities

Every piece starts with a little curiosity.

01 / Grapevine art

A shape worth keeping.

Every vine has its own character. I work with its curves and unexpected forms to make sculpture and wall art that let the material speak.

02 / Lighting

Old materials. A new light.

Grapevines, barrel rings, and staves become lamps, pendants, and chandeliers—pieces with a story, even before you switch them on.

03 / One of a kind

Room for the unexpected.

Barrel art, selected furniture, and ideas that don’t fit neatly into a category. Sometimes a piece of wood suggests something I haven’t made before.

The Garage

Back to the materials.
Back to making.

I’m Michael Weiss. I’ve spent forty years building things, including twenty years with Wine Country Craftsman. Grapevine Art is the next chapter: a smaller workshop and a more personal collection of work.

It’s me, the materials I love, and the shop cats and dogs keeping me company.

Got an idea?

Some of the best projects
start with a conversation.

An unusual piece of grapevine, a space that needs something special, or an idea you can’t quite describe yet—I’d like to hear about it.
