I’m Michael Weiss. For twenty years, Wine Country Craftsman has been my way of exploring what California’s wine country materials can become. Grapevines, old barrels, wood, and metal have given me more ideas than I could ever run out of.
Grapevine Art is the next chapter: a smaller workshop, a more focused collection, and more time with the materials that started it all.
The material comes first.
A vine’s twists, a barrel’s marks, an unexpected curve—those are the things I want to keep. I look for what makes each piece interesting and build from there.
The focus here is grapevine art and lighting, alongside a small selection of barrel pieces and furniture. The past work is part of the story, but the next piece always starts with a fresh look.
Life in the garage

and a little company.
The shop cats and dogs keep me company while I make. This is a personal workshop, and I want the pieces that leave it to feel that way too.
