Retiring these beautiful lights so I can focus on new ones.
In my continuing effort to be environmentally conscious and recycle (and also make more awesome projects), I came up with this fun filled idea to reuse wine barrels in a unique way. 100% recycled and salvaged.
Made entirely from retired wine barrels and recycled steel, “Reverse Nellio” is a classic style of our beloved wine country.
I’ve always been captivated by the character of these retired wine barrel wood; at quick glance, they’re all pretty similar, but when you look closely you start to see just how diverse they are, and how much they’ve been affected by their life holding wine. I decided to make a wall sconce that celebrates this variety of texture and dimension.
I carefully deconstruct a wine barrel that’s had an opportunity to dry for a year, then cut dozens of barrel staves into strips and assemble them together to make a shield that reflects the light sideways and makes a warm glow in your home. Its rugged simplicity looks great whether the bulb’s on or off. Beautiful yet functional, this art piece has 2 standard lights (60W each max and fully dimmable) behind the wine barrel stave shield art.
Beautiful and elegant, it highlights the dark red wine color and the graceful curve of the barrel itself. Securely bolted together and covered in several layers of a clear UV sealer, it is ready to hang in your wine cellar or to bring wine country into your home or business.
Can be hung Horizontally or Vertically.

It’s pretty amazing what happens in my shop. Thanks for visiting!
All my products are carefully handmade using recycled materials. They are individually handcrafted, one-of-a kind creations, and not factory manufactured. It is therefore quite difficult to make identical items, as the materials I use are very diverse in galvanized steel color, patina or rust level. I make every effort to create only the best from materials with natural variations that should not be misconstrued as flaws. These make each piece of a handmade product charming and unique. The pictures may not be identical to the product you receive. It’s probably even more awesome!
